Biography

Chris Georgoulis is the founding member of Georgoulis PLLC. He has been practicing law for over 30 years, specializing in complex construction, commercial and real estate litigation. Chris represents contractors, owners, sureties, subcontractors and developers in multimillion-dollar construction and real estate matters.

Chris regularly handles complex construction cases, litigating affirmative construction claims involving delay analysis, acceleration analysis, and compensation for extra work claims on public and private construction projects, as well as design defect claims.

Owing to his expertise in the construction field, Chris finds innovative and cost-effective ways of resolving matters, often avoiding litigation. Chris frequently works to negotiate settlements in cases where appropriate and beneficial to the client. When litigation is necessary, Chris calls upon his extensive experience as a litigator, having conducted over 100 trials throughout the New York metropolitan area.

Chris has represented clients on bridge, heavy civil, public housing, school and large construction projects for the New York State Department of Transportation, New York City Transit Authority, New York City School Construction Authority, New York City Housing Authority, New York City Department of Design and Construction, the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, United States Department of Labor, New York State Department of Labor and the United States General Services Administration, among other agencies. He practices before federal and state courts, administrative tribunals and construction arbitration panels. Chris has recently been certified by the American Arbitration Association as a mediator.
